Puppies

Please fill out our application found above. It has questions about your lifestyle and preferences so I can best match you with a puppy. If your application is accepted, I will send you an email confirming that you are interested in joining the list. Generally, I go through applications every 1 to 2 weeks so don't panic if you haven't heard back on an application yet!

I subscribe to the quality over quantity approach. I am focused on breeding the highest quality dogs possible, which takes time and effort. Health testing is required for all breeding dogs by the Golden Retriever Club of America, which cannot be completed until after 2 years old. Additionally, completing titles may takes years! Please be patient, they are worth the wait.

I try to go in chronological order of applications, although I do prioritize homes that are interested in conformation, sports, service work, etc. These homes have very specific physical and mental requirements, so I try to match them with their puppies first. Every litter will have puppies going to pet homes, so please don't worry about getting skipped over just for wanting a pet dog. 

I send out updates via email when I am planning a litter to those on my wait list. I will also be posting them to the blog linked above. Once I have puppies born, I will begin taking deposits from my waiting list. I will take approximately half as many deposits as I have puppies in this initial stage. Once I have begun to pair these people with their puppies, I will start taking more deposits from my list. Usually, I will start matching puppies with their homes at 8 weeks so it may be a while before the second round of deposits.

I match based on the preferences you provide in your application. I start by matching conformation, drive, and temperament at around 8 weeks. If there are multiple puppies that would suit one person, I will move onto sex and color preferences. In the rare event that there are two equally suited puppies, I may allow the person to choose between these puppies. I do not allow people to pick out their own puppies outside of this scenario.
